Located on a prominent corner lot in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles, this home design masterfully blends contemporary traditional aesthetics with an industrial feel, catering to its owner's lifestyle. The project's vision centers around creating a sense of movement within the volumes, mirroring the traffic flow at the street's intersection.
The owner wanted a spacious, functional family home with ample outdoor amenities, which guided the design. The result is a residence that harmoniously integrates enough rooms for family living while preserving generous yard space for a garden, pool, and deck. The open floor plan is accentuated by vaulted ceilings, creating an expansive, airy atmosphere throughout the interior.
A distinctive feature of this home is the roof deck, offering sweeping views of the Los Angeles airport and the surrounding neighborhood. The design geometry is anchored by a traditional gable roof, re-imagined and articulated into an artistic composition that balances aesthetic movement with functional performance.
The exterior showcases a seamless blend of contemporary and traditional elements with an industrial twist, characterized by clean lines, raw materials, and thoughtful detailing. This innovative approach to design meets the owner's requirements for a contemporary home and creates a striking statement that resonates with the movement and energy of its urban surroundings.
