The Lindacrest Drive Residence faced a unique design challenge, with a narrow street frontage and a steep hillside site overlooking Beverly Hills. The restrictions on the buildable area posed a challenge for the growing family client. To overcome this obstacle, the design solution focused on maximizing the usable space through a strategy of volumetric shifting of the spaces at each level. This decision not only expanded the interior spaces but also allowed for the recapture of exterior space, which had once been steep hillsides. Each floor level now has its own unique exterior space that extends interior spaces outward to the stunning city and canyon views. The design solution combined form and function to meet the needs of the client while taking into consideration the site's conditions.
