The project involves the creation of a detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) that integrates with the existing home while maintaining its own unique character. The design is shaped as a rectangle and divided into 3 spaces to serve the client's needs, positioned along the back setback line and opened up to the central yard. New decks have been added to the kitchen and living room of the main house to extend their functional use outside. The existing home's Tudor style is merged with modern elements to create a unique look, including large windows and a steep roof shape. The result is a distinctive "zigzag" roof profile that seamlessly integrates with the existing home, embodies its own unique character, maintains a connection to the central yard, and pays homage to the Tudor style.
